The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.'

Coming to you from a stormy, iced over, slushy Baltimore/DC area...with power flickering...we have the BB thread...

A night of detective shows...Options is usually kinda lame but Glenn Miller is awesome...never heard of Adventures Of Maisie...

How’s it going...

On one “Big Broadcast” the hostess, Tallulah Bankhead had Margaret Truman as her guest. She fawned over her so much that I thought they were going to do the deed right there on the radio. Aside: Margaret Truman was a real no talent.

Hi, Vision! I was hoping all was well with you, since the post was later than usual. If your power is flickering, do you suppose it might go out? That would blow chunks in that awful cold!

How are you, otherwise?

Interesting, will give a listen. I love Tallulah Bankhead. The Big Show is a treasure. Don’t know anything of Truman.

Hey Gina, all is well. We keep getting these Sunday winter storms. I've got a car in the garage that has not been out in two weeks as the snow hasn't been melting. /angry rant

Life is great. Was supposed to volunteer at a Church dinner today but it was canceled, so it's be a relaxing day of reading and rest. Watched some CPAC yesterday.

How are you both?

CPAC is Comicon for conservatives. People get together, hear speeches, party and go home. That’s it.

Probably because everyone knows we, as a nation, are finished. The commie Dems have taken over everything now, including the internet, and those in power on the GOP side are doing absolutely nothing about it.

Considering Obama's disregard for the Constitution and the willingness of his opposition to simply sit at his knee and wait for handouts, do not be surprised if he decides to keep himself President in 2016.

We’re okay, hanging in there. :-) Keith’s got some baby back ribs smoking on the BGE. I’m not doing laundry, because the washer sprung a leak last night. Keith had to work today, but he looked at it when he got home, and he thinks it’s the water pump. Bummer. I was going to go to a laundromat to wash the clothes (and dry them here), but he thought he might be able to fix it. Turns out no.

Other than that, all’s as well as can be expected.

Almost all the new washers are HE. Takes a little getting used to if you’re not.

“HE” means “green” which means crap, as far as I’m concerned.
