Formerly the "Quinn and Rose Morning Show" thread, our friendly group continues to meet to start the day as we await the return of our favorite morning talk show - possibly sometime this month! So if you are preparing to go to work, are getting home from work - or happily retired - stop in and say mornin' and share the latest news, discuss the weather, share a recipe, or whatever!
Morning FRiends! Snap!
For those of you who missed it on yesterday’s thread, Greg B said that Quinn tweeted Announcement coming on page. Be sure to check the warroom website for updates!
Good morning!
Yup...been checking that and the radio rumor sites...so far nothing but keep the faith!
Meanwhile from the Post Gazette...
Child care. Candy. Certain legal services.
These goods and services are not subject to the sales tax in Pennsylvania, but under Gov. Tom Wolfs budget proposal, they and others would be.
More here...it’s disgusting!
Good morning n’@!
I saw the story (about NEW sales tax) on WTAE last night. Toothpaste, magazines, OTC meds, childcare, sports tix, flags, even live stock. Add in Wolfies enviro nuttiness and we’ll be New York state before we know it.
Still no job (the promising interview for both my former co-worker and I is still “out there”). Saw yesterday that my “fall back” opportunity, Target, will be laying off...sigh.
Yinz stay warm and drive safe. There are “slippy” spots still.
For a businessman, Wolf is an idiot.
All he sees are the dollar signs and the opportunity to grab what little we make.
You want to fund schools? Cut administrators!
Hang in there PAMom - the right job will come along for you. Praying something comes soon.
Didn’t take him long! I read the several comments at the end of the article. Typical Pittsburgh dems! Same old whining!
They made their bed. They need to sleep in it now!
Let’s hope the PA legislature or the people stop Wolf!!
It IS COLD! That might be haviing an impact on you job. Tough to set up and open a business when people have to stay indoors.
Youngest son works at Target and just started back to college....more worries.
Yes, Wolf is definitely the Taxman.
The Democrats in my office who voted for him are still in denial. One said “He only wants to raise taxes on the wealthy.”
LOL! Slapping sales tax on child care? Those Democrats are certainly concerned about “working families”!
I think the Democrat definition of wealthy is “someone who makes more money than you”
Very apt.

Quinn is back. Just not in Pittsburgh. He starts in Rochester, NY, one of his former affiliate stations beginning in April, no idea how many other stations will be picking him up initially. He will apparently broadcast from his home in Pittsburgh. No word if Salem will pick him up, but he will be back on radio regardless. No word if Rose is joining him or not.
Hmmm...Nothing on the WYSL website. IIRC that’s where Q&r were.
If the rumor is true Q&R would replace Bill Bennett.
WYSL also netcasts. How would that work if Jim wants the net rights???
One of our new people to the list, WaldenHillSciFi, (welcome to Free Republic, and to the Q&R thrad by the way!) posted this (in part) on yesterday’s thread:
“Thanks for your clue former affiliates. I went to the web site of my old Q&R station WFRB AM560 Frostburg,Md - www.talkradio560.com. There was a notice that Glenn Beck would be moving to 3-6.
The current lineup is Bill Bennett 6-9, Religious 9-10, Glenn Beck 10-12, Rush 12-3, and Dennis Miller 3-7. Room for Q&R?”
I wonder if he’s going to be back on WFRB eventually?
VERY INTERESTING!
Also note it’s another Bill Bennett in morning drive station.
Yes, I saw that! Bill Bennett is B-O-R-I-N-G!!! Also, if they follow their old format, they could repeat the first hour during the religious hour after the initial 6-9.
I saw the update on his Twitter bio: “April 1!!!”
Something good is afoot and it’s not just about a netcast!
