FERGUSON • Officers swarmed a home in Ferguson Thursday morning in a search for those responsible for the shooting of two police officers outside the Ferguson police department about midnight.
The two officers shot early Thursday are expected to survive, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said. They were treated at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and released Thursday, though one still had a bullet lodged behind his ear.
Belmar called the shooting as protests outside the department dwindled an "ambush" on police. At least three shots were fired at police just after midnight as police faced protesters who had gathered outside the police station, police said.
Tactical officers surrounded a brick bungalow on Dade Avenue near Tiffin Avenue. The home is about four blocks west of the police department. Officers went in with dogs about 9:30 a.m. A neighbor said he saw police bring two men out of the home . The woman who neighbors say rents the home was also brought out in handcuffs.
The neighbor also heard police talk of a third man hiding in the attic. Police later tried to enter the attic from the roof but were beginning to wrap up about 10:15 a.m. without bringing anyone else out.
Authorities have not discussed the situation at the house.

Could have been a white Occupy type. They’re pretty violent, and they frequently plan violence against police officers at their demonstrations (although usually they’re so stupid they get caught before they can do it, fortunately).
Protests after midnight??
Guess the protestors had today off from work.

The house that they showed in the article didn’t look too bad - it’s apparently a rental, and they arrested the woman renting it, too. Heck, it could have been Muslims, for all I know, taking advantage of the situation to stage a little jihad. They frequently rent houses to carry out their activities, and there have been a lot of them (according to what I have read here) streaming into Ferguson to cause trouble.
Bet it was a 22 to 30 year old black.
I wouldn’t be surprised to find green tip M855 brass at the shooting site. I put NOTHING past the DOJ. We need to find out where Lon Horiuchi was last night. Of course, he would have preferred to shoot a woman cop.
