Ive come to realize over the years that in the world of politics, there will always be a steady supply of partisan hacks ready and willing to throw themselves on the proverbial sword for the party and the candidates they support.
Im not talking about ideologues who are reflexively defensive of their beliefs, or even campaign workers paid to put a positive face on whoever they work for. Im talking about the strategists on cable news, newspaper op-ed writers, and Internet bloggers who shamelessly spin, distract, and outright lieall at the expense of their personal credibility and characterto run cover for individuals who couldnt possibly respect them.
People who would trade in their dignity and sell their souls to politicians, whether it be on the right or left, creep me out. And lately, the creepiest of the creepy has been Lanny Davis, former adviser and legal representative to Bill Clinton.
Once a notable political figure himself, Davis has kept himself in the public spotlight in recent years as a television and radio commentator. Hes eloquently offered his opinions on a number of political topics, and has even made some news when occasionally speaking out against other Democrats.
But when it comes to the Clintons, it has become painfully evident that Mr. Davis will, at a moments notice, rush into battle to defend not just the indefensible, but also the inconceivable. Furthermore, he doesnt seem to care how silly it makes him look. The latest examples have come from his recent commentary on the Hillary Clinton email scandal.
Last week on Megyn Kellys Fox News show, in one of the weirder exchanges Ive witnessed on cable news, Davis insisted that Clinton has done everything appropriately, and that she couldnt have concealed any emails that went through her private account and private mail server (located inside her house), because thousands of people were aware that she used a private email address.
In other words: Because Hillary Clinton emailed thousands of people while she served as Secretary of State, and those people could see by looking at her email address that it used a private domain, nothing was concealed.
Confused? Megyn Kelly sure was. She reiterated multiple times that the argument was not about the concealment of the existence of the email address, but rather the concealment of the content that was inside the emails sent and received. Still, Davis wasnt having any part of it, reiterating his incoherent position and declaring that Clinton had done absolutely nothing wrong.
A few days later, Davis turned up on Fox News Sunday, where Chris Wallace pressed him with more questions on the same topic. Davis ended up turning in one of the most embarrassing defenses ever captured on video. He offered one nonsensical excuse after another, in regard to what Clinton had done. Let me summarize:

-
Lanny Davis is James Carville without the class. HAHA
Lanny is a lawyer and he gets PAID to do this.
I was gonna say two words; democrat and lawyer.
Every time I see Lanny Davis, I always think of Martin Short’s SNL sleazy lawyer character Nathan Thurm.
Easy. He doesn't have a reflection.
......Riiiiight
Lanny HAS to look in the mirror-———to make sure his teeth are sparkly white——when he pumps Hillary at his next TV smirk-a-thon.
Lanny is a lawyer and he gets PAID to do this.
You took the words right out of my mouth!!!
Which is why he's been scarce. The issue of her OF-109 has removed any wiggle room in their argument.
Look at his clients! Evils scum and dictators. He is even representing Washington Redskins to keep their “name”.
His specialty at his lawfirm is “legal crisis management”.
Every position he takes is for pay. He has been criticized for not disclosing his clients (by of all people Glenn Greenwald of Salon - says so in Wiki >>>>

Davis, Panetta, and Carville sold their souls to Satan long ago.
Not really. She must affirm that she turned everything over to the “proper authority”. She says she is it.
“I have surrendered to responsible official”...
Hell, she is La Presidenta elect!

Commentary on Howard Kurtz’s Sunday morning program on FoxNews:
Active Clinton.
Scandal already.
Clinton Anti-scandal Media Spin Team in full force, making rounds to the media. Same members who used to get trotted out when BJ was in the Oval Office.
Implication: We will have 4 to 8 years of this — scandals and scandal allegations, if Clinton is elected.
Webb Hubbell’s ‘omerta’ response is instructive - he was willing to disgrace himself and go to jail rather than risk telling the truth about the Clinton crime family business. Lanny Davis is no different.
Every time I see Lanny Davis, I think of Pee Wee Herman.
