Liberty lets Cruz crash McAuliffe speech date

When U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, wanted to speak, Liberty University listened — even if it meant indirectly dissing the governor of Virginia.

The private, conservative Christian school in Lynchburg, founded by Jerry Falwell, had reached out in January and invited Gov. Terry McAuliffe to speak on Monday at its weekly convocation.

The governor’s office entered it on McAuliffe’s calendar Jan. 29.

Liberty President Jerry Falwell Jr. said the school was contacted about 11 days ago by representatives for Cruz. They apparently informed the school that the senator wanted to announce his candidacy for president.

According to Falwell, who detailed the situation to a packed auditorium of students Monday before introducing Cruz, the school immediately contacted the governor’s office to explain that Cruz would be “sharing the stage” with McAuliffe. Falwell said the school later offered to move Cruz’s appearance to the afternoon.

“The governor’s office graciously explained that Governor McAuliffe had an important message he wanted to deliver to you, the students of Liberty University, and that he preferred to do it on another day without these distractions,” Falwell said. He said school officials were working to reschedule the governor.

But that’s not quite how the governor’s office saw it.

McAuliffe officials said Liberty’s first attempt was to reschedule the governor’s speech altogether — because of scheduling complications they said were created by weather.

“They asked if we could do another date later in March or April,” McAuliffe communications director Brian Coy said. “We asked if there was a way to keep the date, as it was very short notice and we’d built a whole day in the region.

“We subsequently heard that their request was actually due to a presidential candidate who wanted to speak in the region.”

Coy said the Liberty official who contacted the office subsequently asked if the governor wanted to speak on the same day, “but we accepted another invitation. The governor was excited to (speak) and disappointed that Liberty changed the plan so close to the day.”

He said there was no immediate plan to reschedule the Liberty speech.

No! He’s the Gov of VA.

And .. this is just another liberal dissing Cruz over a non-issue. The head of the school spoke before Ted, and he explained why the Gov was not there; as had been previously scheduled.

The person who wrote this is full of hot air.

McAwful is despicable but Liberty invited him to speak. He is, after all, governor of the stat where they are located.

In this case, tho, it sounds like the school really screwed the deal, not McAwful or Cruz. Liberty could have asked Cruz to come another day. There was no urgency for him to speak/announce there today.

They are afraid of Ted Cruz. The MSM press and the Progressives will now combine to try to derail Cruz. Watch what happens. McAuliff , a democrat , wanted to know that Cruz has no manners. He and Washington had better hold on to their hats. Cruz is more than prepared to handle his opposition, including sycophants like McAuliff.

I can hardly wait.

I’m still sickened by the thought of Clinton’s Bag Man as the Gov. of VA.

Good question. Other than the fact that he is VA Gov, I don’t see any reason to let the pro-abortion/homo marriage Progressive to even stand on University property.

Because Liberty has drifted way far away from its original calling. Some my call that apostasy, well, you didn’t hear that from me.

Wah-wah-wah! McAuliffe is a lying POS (siberian sheep), a green energy financing thief and stock fraud artists (Global Crossing). He deserves everything he is getting and more so. The State of VA did not vote this idiot in. It was beltway queers in VA/DCland who did. All so he could “deliver” VA for hitlery. He’s not going to, by a long shot.

You think so? Based on what? Mcawful is hillary ho’s “boy” to deliver VA for her.

It was essential to get this out— in VA and... first, before queen biotch “assumes” her coronation. Draw a line.

Besides which Mcawful deserves dissing. These are the people in VA he disdains and thinks are “rubes”. He’s a lying POS.

Don’t be so hard on Terry. He could give the students tips on how to get rich from a career as a political fund raiser.

Its’ a question of courtesy that Liberty (and you) seem to think unimportant.

Leave aside anyone’s “feelings” for McAwful, Liberty invited him months ago to speak on 3/23. He accepted. A commitment was made, by both sides.

Because Liberty “got a better offer” eleven (11) days beforehand, they pulled out of their months-long commitment. That may be okay by you, but it’s tacky by most standards. Cruz could easily have come a few days later or appeared elsewhere.

Respect is due McAwful because... why? You have any idea what kind of crap he’s heaped on the Liberty people, and more precisely the religious people of VA, ie. Christians. The man is a con artist, who deserves disrespect. Just like Charlie Crist got in FL when “found out”. Gov of VA is an executive role as described in the state’s constitution. It is not a royal position.

Not to mention, mcawful is a “bagman” for the Clintons who do not and will not ever give a sh@# for Christians anywhere. So, tough beans for the bag man. Who, uh, was offered another date.

This Cruz talked kicked mcawful’s butt rather well.

Mcawful’s a goner, either with corruption charges or voted out. Wonder if HE is on hitlery’s private email comms. He certainly is on their payroll. Deo Vindice.

You seem to know a lot about VA, its governor, and his abuse of Christians within the Old Dominion, even using the screen name of a famous Virginian. How is you don’t know that the VA governor cannot be ‘voted out?”

Who said anything about voting? Meant another kind of “voting”— the lead or resign “vote”. And yes, I do know a lot about VA, ED. Though I'm certain that the keyboard kommando’s need to feel absolutely correct in all things governs their dialogue— them being non-players in the real world. This dude is toast, along with hills and co. The inside/outside fascists beltway bandit VA govt. contract tit suckers and liberal queers who supported him will be out of luck

Next topic, today's reveal about mcawful the bagman’s caper with foreign investors, Hugh Rodham (hitlery’s brother), the USCIS office (citizenship) of the DHS, Mr. Mayorkas “selling” 500K citizenship applications, to fund mcawful’s GreenTech car company (which produced not ONE car btw). The “bagman” bagged the money for him and hills, and the idiot beltway voters of VA put him in office on the promise of.... hiiiiigh tech jobs. He is a criminal. More later with the filing of Judicial Watch's RICO based case on the Clintoons... and uh, mcawful. If you work for this slick dick- start job hunting.
