An acquaintance of mine from work has suffered with Lymes for a dozen years or so. She is unable to work now, and seldom without discomfort.

...nothing beats DDT for killing those rascals.

But it also kills off bees and other useful insects. Precise application is critical.

Hey, she is SOMEBODY, one of her songs was parodied by Wierd Al. That’s a sign you’ve really made it!

I bought something that you spray on your clothes and boots that you are going to wear outside. It is used by our military. I can not remember its name. I bought it online.
I will look tonight when I get home.

The other thing you can do is try to keep the low brush cut down. The ticks tend to hang out in the brush and weeds that are 6” to 2’ tall. That is where they tend to jump on you. I go around with my Stihl brush trimmer and keep the stuff around the yard(grass that I mow) knocked down.

My mother in law actually tucks her pant legs into her socks so the ticks can not jump on your ankles and crawl up your leg.

Also, I have a few bags left of diazinol crystals still in the shed. I mostly use that to keep carpenter ants from coming in the house. I sprinkle it right around the foundation. I bought six bags about ten years back when I heard they were going to make it illegal.

What sprays are using?

Diazinon(now illegal in crystal form) also was great for killing insects and apparently you and me eventually. It is supposed to be a cancer causer.

I use that to kill carpenter ants. I used it one time to kill all insects when I had a bad case of beetle grubs about ten years back Diazinon will kill an ant hill in about ten minutes.

There is actually no such thing as Chronic Lyme Disease. It’s one of the many self-diagnosed diseases. They usually have something else that is hard to diagnose so the doctors just accept the patient’s diagnosis. They test positive for Lyme because they had it at one time.
A friend had CFS/Lyme....except when she went home to Louisiana to visit family. It turned out to be a bad case of Depression.

A friend of mine just died of symptoms caused by Lyme disease.

According to Mayo Clinic:

Left untreated, Lyme disease can cause:

Chronic joint inflammation (Lyme arthritis), particularly of the knee
Neurological symptoms, such as facial palsy and neuropathy
Cognitive defects, such as impaired memory
Heart rhythm irregularities

I think I bought the stuff you spray on your clothes from Amazon. I remember it was in a black and yellow package. I also remember they stated that you should spray it on the clothes OUTSIDE. Then, let them hang outside for 24 hours before you wore them.

According to your link "lingering symptoms of fatigue, pain, or joint and muscle aches. In some cases, these can last for more than 6 months.

Those patients who develop cardiac symptoms have to live with them longer than six months. Some of them die from dysrhythmias.

My friend died from them. She didn't imagine the symptoms. Some people really suffer from Lyme Disease.
