The New Testament was written by folks who thought the Earth was flat and we were all there was. To assume we are the only thing He created in this vast and infinite universe is not only a tad arrogant, but a little silly too..

What would be the point of God creating others in his image on other planets?

I believe the whole purpose of the Solar System being designed as it is, is to support life on this planet in one capacity or another, in ways that mortal man will never be able to discover.

Of course the problem is that we don’t know that
Jesus didn’t die for their sins at some other time
and place.

We are small fish in God’s Ocean.

Jpb 26:10 and Isaiah 40:21&22 both refer to a spherical earth. The men who God used to write the New Testament had studied both those books throughout their lives.

It seems arrogant to claim to know more about God’s creation than Jesus Himself through His inspired word.

What would be the point not to? The universe is vast, it contains billions of galaxies like ours, how do we know this same discussion isn’t being carried out thousands of light years away from here right now?
We don’t. And He gave us free will and curious minds, how could we not seek out other lives? And who knows, maybe we’ll find out we ARE the only game in town. But until then, I’m all for taking a look..

If there is intelligent life out there, are they doomed with no hope of salvation because they are not man for whom Christ died

The NT does not address alien civilizations but it is really not your problem is it? I'm sure God can handle it.

The enormity of it all boggles ones mind.

Who made God?

Ranks up there with ‘what time is Jerry Springer on’?

In today’s cosmically spun mess we are in.

What would be the point of God creating others in his image on other planets?

Dunno ... maybe the same reason that lead God to create trillions of planets in the first place? Some things are mysteries known only to God

We are told to have a reason for what we believe, so sound doctrine and knowing that God’s word is the ultimate source of truth is the “problem” of every believer.

we are also told very clearly not to add to scripture as well.

“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this Book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this Book” Revelation 22:18-19

Since alien life is not dealt with in the Bible it is not really an issue that affects one’s faith one way or the other.

Funny how stating that God could have done something He never claims to have done isn’t “adding to scripture” but explaining how that act would contradict what He has already told us in His word is “adding to the scripture”.

I agree with you. Most don’t understand the violence the existence aliens would do to the Bible...and that may be the whole point of the phenomenon.

I am afraid the world is slowly being duped into believing a very dangerous lie. I don’t believe in aliens, but I believe there is a spirit world full of deceiving spirits who teach “doctrines of devils.” I know Satan and fallen angels are very real.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

A wise man isn’t vain in his imagination and he doesn’t lean on his own understanding. Instead, he grounds himself on what we know is true—God’s Word.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Psalm 3:5-6)

It is not funny. “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this Book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this Book”. It is not funny at all.

The Bible does not address alien life yet you somehow claim to know that God didn’t create it. Where is this added scripture that gives you such divine wisdom? Again - some matters are known only to God. We may not ever know whether there is or is not alien life.

Remember that old early 1960’s TV show, ‘The Outer Limits’? I remember an episode they did about a story with a human transformed into an ‘alien monster’ to unite the world to fight against it and it’s kind. I think Robert Culp was the monster. Don’t remember how the story came out though.

I agree the Bible makes no explicit statements as to the existence or non-existence of extraterrestrial life, intelligent or otherwise. For that reason, Christians would have nothing to fear if alien life were truly discovered. However, starting from Scripture, we see that earth is the focus of God’s plan; earth existed before other heavenly bodies, was the site of Jesus’ death and resurrection; and is the centerpiece of the new creation in Revelation 21. Furthermore, nearly all the hype we hear about finding alien life comes from evolutionists or those with compromised, New Age-like perspectives on God; if one holds to a biblical worldview, he sees the astonishing lack of evidence for extraterrestrial life—especially considering how actively man has searched for it for decades. Thus, there is not only no reason for the Christian to believe aliens exist, but reason for the Christian to believe aliens don’t exist.

God created the entire universe. God’s Son Jesus Christ came to Earth as a human being, the “last Adam,” (I Corinthians 15:45-47) to die for all human beings who, like their real common ancestor—the first Adam—are sinners. We also know from God’s Word that the whole creation groans with corruption (Romans 8:21-22) under the curse of man’s sin. Thus the theological position of extraterrestrial intelligent life would cast aspersions on God’s character, as such beings would be reaping the guilty whirlwind of man’s sin without access to the grace of Christ.
