The sublimation of sexual energy is the engine of civilization. At least that’s Freud’s theory. Societies that squander their energy in licentious sexual indulgence don’t tend to survive long, and may explain why so many decaying societies are marked by sexual excess.
Yea...if you look at the AIDS epidemic in Africa and the percentage of the population that is affected by it, sexual immorality is rampant (unless they are all intravenous drug users sharing needles).
