Homosexuality is an inclination. Acting out on this inclination is an act.
My employer is very big into the “diversity and inclusion” mandates, because it helps them win government contracts to have documentation showing how far they’ve gone implementing it in the workplace.
One of those actions is featuring employees regularly who break stereotypes and set new norms.
There have been several men featured who “came out” and are proud to have a supportive company. One left his wife of ten years and four children. Another commented that he and his ex-wife are friends, his five grown children are supportive.
No one is allowed to say, “Clearly it was a choice, since you were able to make so many children with a woman before choosing men.”
He may not be able to control same sex attraction, just as some men have an urge to rape or commit pedophilia. But he clearly had a choice, and he had previously made the choice to live by the heterosexual norm.
