If the government taxes cigarettes, don’t they need more and more people to smoke? They never like to give up tax money.

We learned that oh so well in the 1990’s with El Rushbo on the radio.

The demonization of cigarettes was a vehicle to extract money from the ciggy industry in the lawsuit going on then to line the pockets of governments and trial lawyers who make big political contributions.

It also enables politicians to raise taxes on cigarettes.

David Cameron in the UK demonized alcohol in recent years with a push for more alcohol taxes there.

Government subsidizes corn. Corn is extremely high in fructose. Fructose is the worse sugar for weight gain...why do I have this feeling that whatever government decides to do, it will only make the problem worse?
