I sang this song as a little girl when my father was overseas in Vietnam. I still sing it and it makes my heart swell.
My dad is still with us. But for all that have lost loved ones dying for our freedom, I hope and pray that my life promoting and fighting for American liberty can do justice to your sacrifice.

“Fearless men who jump and die” While I always liked the song, I never got that line. I’m all for the jumping part, but not so much the dying part. As a job description, it doesn’t seem like it would make for a compelling recruitment poster.
