The reason why a lot of the sets and uniforms on “Star Trek” were bright primary colors are because NBC was a big sponsor of one of the companies that sold color TVs.

Interesting. Never a big Star Trek fan but used to love the colors of the scenes.

I won an art contest in 1965, sponsored by our local NBC affiliate, and won first prize - a console color TV. (That’s when the peacock logo came out). I was 11 years old and in the 6th grade. I was awarded it on a Saturday morning kid’s TV show. No one had a color TV in our neighborhood at that time. It was pretty cool.

I knew Batman was in color because it said so at the bottom of the screen.
