Blue State Blues: Trump Understands the American Consumer – So the Media Hate Him
Breitbart ^ | 3 Jul 2015 | by Joel B. Pollak

This week, a new CNN survey showed that despite the national outrage over the Confederate flag, a majority of Americans view it as “a symbol of Southern pride” rather than a “symbol of racism.” The poll results contrasted sharply with CNN’s editorial approach to the flag, which had been to inflame public opinion around the issue.

Much the same is happening with Donald Trump, the billionaire Republican running for president: the media hate him, but he is surging in GOP polls.

The left has a convenient, and false, explanation for all of this: America is racist, and the Republican Party is even more racist, so the racists in the party are rallying around him. More sophisticated observers might allow that some of Trump’s appeal to the party is the fact that he is willing to stand up to the media in the face of staggering pressure–boycotts, threats, and ridicule– when other Republican figures fold at the first sign of a challenge.

But there is another reason for his appeal: Trump is speaking for a large group of Americans who are ignored by the political system.

This race is all about Donald Trump thus far.

Ted Cruz is standing by him, which is probably a very wise move, and benefits them both.

Everyone else is frozen in fear. Which is just fine for Trump. Who is now, according to one report I've read, now leading all GOP competitors for the Republican nomination.

Trump is standing up, to everything the left is throwing at him.

Which is quite a lot.

Stand firm, big guy. A lot of us are supporting you out here in America.

For real.

The Chamber of Facists has used ther influence to get NASCAR to dump, Mr. Trump. It’s time to show NASCAR who made them popular. Time for another boycott. It will pass soon enough for you fans. We need to boycott NASCAR.

I think I agree 100%.

The Chamber is against, exactly what FR is for. Maybe it is that simple.

That is why they’re wailing like stuck pigs, at the moment. Trump is really getting to them.

First it was the boy scouts, now NASCAR. Everyone is eventually sold out.

Everyone.

Trump keep on speaking up for all of us. You are speaking what so many of us have been thinking, for so very long.

“,,, the American consumer”?

Trump, like Cruz, is talking to people.
The media, like most of the candidates, is talking to advertising demographics.
There is a difference.

If I were a fan, I’d drop them like a bad habit.

The very best way to make them pay, don’t fund them. They want the cash. Personally I wouldn’t give them a penny.

If I had to pick today I’d go with either Trump or Cruz. Even though they’re both radically different from one another in terms of style, they both possess the ability to stand up to the left effectively and unapologetically. That’s probably because they don’t allow the left to dictate the rules of the debate.

While Cruz’s arguments are more intellectual and impressive, Trump’s have more of a simple common sense quality to them. I have some wariness regarding the vague, often careless way Trump addresses many issues, in contrast to Cruz’s more detailed well thought out arguments, but Trump’s style might be more effective at reaching independents who are not that well informed on the issues but with whom Trump’s common sense arguments may resonate.

As President, Trump might get a lot of things wrong, but he might also get some of the really big issues right, in a way that no one else could.

I have noted how many Freepers are angry at the Republican Party that they keep threatening to go elsewhere.

Well, it seems Mr.Trump is fed up with the Democrat Party, and he’s speaking his mind about the disappointments. Those disappointments coincide with what so many working men and women observe in our nation today.
