The “marriage” thing was the point of Christian resistance in our society.

Yup, and that’s what the other tyrants and totalitarian movements pretty much did as well. However, they can also try being thorough, where they go after relatives just to be sure that there are no “secret Christians” it was an error and the failure of the Romans in their purges.
Exactly right. The last thing they want to happen is for their worst enemies to capitulate on ‘gay marriage.’
