A local district attorney says that the probe into Sandra Bland’s death after a traffic stop is being treated “like a murder investigation,” despite preliminary information indicating that she committed suicide.

Bland was arrested July 10 after a traffic stop and died three days later in her cell....

The cops did a really amateurish job of editing the dashcam video. Wonder what they were trying to hide. I also wonder if the video from the jail has been edited to hide something.

I do not dispute that she has a right to smoke in her car, but I know darned well that Jamal is just interested in advancing the race war.

The Cop was letting her off with a Warning.

A tiny bit of respect and politeness would have gone a long way.

They are grasping for anything that could get Trump off the top of the page.

I was met with silence. To be fair, we were both busy at the moment, just chatting while busy. Hopefully I have them something to think about. :-)

Meanwhile, in a community that has a big illegal alien problem, not a single report on local radio or tv and little print on the families who testified before Congress about loved ones MURDERED by illegal aliens.

This video will break the case wide open. It should be posted on the internet to refute the dashcam video. Since you’ve seen it, you obviously have a copy. The world would greatly appreciate your posting theis video immediately!

you are right, it was not an unlawful order. neither was it a lawful order telling her to stop smoking in her own car.

He should have issued a ticket and walked away. He pretty much caused every wrong in this incident minus the woman not using her turn signal. he asks her why she is irritated... he already knew why. The entire chain of events that followed were a direct result of poor decisions made by the officer. No crime was committed here, not one. only a simple traffic infraction, these are not criminal offenses. the only thing I can add is there may be some conditions since she was a parolee regarding vehicle searches, but this officer verbalized none of that. he got butt hurt when she told him she was mad about the ticket (after he asked), then he escalated a non-existent situation because she wouldn't put out her cigarette (that she was smoking inside her own car). this was nothing short of a pi$#ing contest that he knows better than to engage in regardless of how rude she was.

As far as her death is concerned, there were obvious mental issues here. This is a completely different debate. Although the arrest may have ultimately led to her suicide, anyone with a little sense knows it is not the root cause.

I think she had a chip on her shoulder and that is why she was arrested.

There was a report (I haven’t seen the entire video) that she kicked the LEO.

Anyway, I do agree she had mental issues. She should have just complied and she likely would have been allowed to move on.

Maybe the cop was concerned she’d burn his hand, who knows?

...

That’s possible. While she does have the right to smoke in her car, she was also temporarily detained. I’m guessing that under that circumstance, especially considering her agitation, the officer gave her a legal order.

“We are in a state of emergency here in Texas. We are not afraid of ISIS, we’re afraid of the police.”

That $#*+ might stick to the wall back in his hometown of Baltimore, but it will melt right off and fall into the gutter where it belongs when you try it here in Texas.

CNN is trying to ramp up a race riot on this story!

...

And that pleases the Emperor.

Some of Obama’s children attempted to execute a cop in St. Louis a week ago. He was saved by his vest. CNN and the rest could care less about that story.

And possibly her behavior was due to being impaired. He would have a duty to investigate that.

Or put it in his eye. I had a friend, a vehement smoker, when told “Put that out,” would respond “I’ll put it out in your eye.” They backed off after that.

well, I guess you could call that a personal decision. As far as I’m concerned, he needed his butt stomped for what he was doing to her. him getting kicked was a direct result of his initiating the assault and illegal detention. there was no cause for what he did other than his ego taking a hit and that is not just cause. you can say she should have just complied so she could leave, and again, that’s a personal decision. I don’t submit to stuff like that. If a cop tells me to dance, that will be met with resistance. As Charlie Murphy would say, they are “habitual line-steppers”.

The cop needed his butt stomped? For real? Oookay. Somehow I doubt you will really disobey a cop if he isn't giving you an unlawful order.

I have experienced encounters with cops where I was asked to do something that I didn't understand or agree with. For instance, at the Tea Party rallies I've been to in Florida, the cops request the crowds to relegate themselves to certain areas to keep away from traffic and we comply.

They asked us when we were near the federal courthouse to not go onto the property thereof--even though we were citizens who had every right to go there. We didn't cry that we were being oppressed. We listened, had our protest and went about our business.

Not all of us agreed with the orders, but we were willing to get along with officers who were understandably doing a job that needed to be done.

This woman, with admitted mental problems, should have just complied.

I am sorry she died--she must have been profoundly lonely. But the cop didn't kill her. And he couldn't have known she was mentally ill, could he? The question is rhetorical. I think you and I will have to agree to disagree. :-)
