A suspect is in custody at the 76th precinct in connection with Monday night’s shooting in Brooklyn that injured 5 people and caused a pregnant woman to lose her unborn baby, sources say.
While the first suspect is in custody, police have released the photo of Marquise Frederick, 19, in connection with the shooting.
According to police, a late-model SUV pulled up in front of 9 Dwight St. and fired into a group of people about 10:51 p.m. Monday.
Community activist Tony Herbert, who was at the scene of the shooting, said one of three female victims was five months pregnant and shot three times. All five victims were taken to a hospital in varying conditions.
A 19-year-old woman shot in the torso is in critical condition, police said. Two other women, a 19-year-old and 22-year-old, were shot in the leg. Two 20-year-old men were also shot in the torso and in the leg, police said.
The pregnant victim’s child did not survive, Herbert told PIX11 News.
“Innocent people should not die, all lives matter,” Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams said Monday during an open casket demonstration outside the steps of Borough Hall. “The temperature rise cannot cause a rise in gun violence.”
Adams and community activists demanded the city to allocate $10 million in emergency funding for programs to get guns off the streets. The de Blasio administration said City Council has already allocated $18 million to programs in high crime neighborhoods, but Adams said that funding is not enough.
Charges are pending against the person currently in custody.

Charge him with murder. He’s even worse than Planned Parenthood for using a gun instead as a scalpel. Same kind of murder though.
What’s the point in wasting the bandwidth? With a first name like Marquise, the bright ones know what he look likes, and the dumb ones think revealing the name is racist.
Eric Adams, a typical dumbassed liberal. If you get the criminals off the streets, you get their guns off the street.
Getting a gun off the street, by itself, is a start. If you get the thug who is willing to use the gun off the street and into jail for a long time, you have a winner.
No wonder NY City is in such deep shit with “leaders” like this.

If this had been at a school and he was white, well we would have four weeks of handwringing and calls for more gun legislation.
I am beginning to believe these mass shootings in urban environs are eclipsing the high profile white male shooter.
