While in the Navy, I was stationed in Italy (Sardinia) in ‘85-86. No drinking age laws then. Public drunkenness was looked down upon. I remember seeing a young teen (13 or 14) on a moped stop have an 8 oz glass of beer then take off. It’s our culture it was 21 then the age did go down to 18 now it’s back up to 21. My thoughts are if you are old enough to serve in the armed forces then you are old enough to drink. If the establishment wants 21 then that should be the age to enter the service! That might not be a bad idea, the youth would have to work (learn a trade or discipline) or go to school!

I’d say 18 for drinking and 30 for voting would fix a lot of problems. :)

It’s a little weird. When I was 18 you could buy beer legally. When I turned 21 they raised the age back up to 21.
Yep, you can fight and die for your country at 18, but can’t drink alcohol at that age... go figure.
