How can this be?

I just saw somewhere that July 2015 was the hottest July in the history of the universe.

I’ve been stocking up on bottled water and toilet paper.

Yes, if you put your official thermometers on asphalt roof tops in Texas, the temperature is 120 all through July and August. However, July was not that hot in Texas, while August has been a beast.

Back in the olden days, when country people were listened to instead of idiots with diplomas on their walls, the old timers would say that if the summer was hotter, the following winter would be colder than normal. We should have a humdinger of a winter this year, if this was the hottest July ever.
