General question for our FreeRepublic community:
Is there an opinion poll restricted to our internal FR posting members?
I have an interest in what our FR community thinks about a huge range of topics.
Reading posts and participating in threaded discussions has been very informative.
However, I think there’s merit to introducing polling our members on a number of topics and current events:
Political: favorite political candidate (weekly to see trends)
Who do you want to impeach, and how long should their sentence be? ;n)
Social - should we restrict immigration, and if so the quota?
Geopolitical / Foreign policy - should Europe reintroduce full border controls?
Economic - would you be okay with a world currency?
Science - % who believe in AGW Climate Warming
Religious - # of religious group affliations?
News source reliance - I’ll bet Drudge and FR dominate!
Controversies / beliefs -
Best films, music, books -
It may be very insightful, and could better define who we are as a group of Freepers?
*Jim and John, if you do think there’s value in this, is it possible to ensure each member only has one vote, and that there’s assurance to keep voting history anonymous?
I offer to donate toward this effort if members see value in this.
Thanks!
I second the motion. Would love to see polls on what our membership thinks about candidates and the issues of the day. The threads and opinions expressed are great, but seeing some summary statistical info. would be very interesting.
To all - please pardon my failure to label this as a vanity post.
And what, pray tell, are you going to do with this data?
A decade ago, FR had polls on candidates and topics.
I haven’t seen any of them in a long while. Not sure whether they were discontinued due to FR software changes or other reasons.
Could have been because too many zombies were logging in to vote in them.
Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps. Why were they 16th?
* could better define who we are as a group of Freepers*
I for one....don’t want to be *defined*...thanks anyway!
