He should be fired for being too stupid to be a cop.

I can’t imagine how anyone could do this.

>>“In order to be held criminally liable for his acts, proof would be required that officer Enriquez intentionally left his dogs in a closed hot car in Davie, Fla., in late May. There is no evidence to support this ghoulish proposition,”

I wonder if a civilian would get that benefit of a doubt.

Had any non-police officer killed two police dogs, they’d be in prison faster than you can say “soup bone”.

Standard procedure: Charge the thug with the most severe crime you can think of, and if you can't make a case, he can't be liable for any lesser charge, like criminal negligence.

If he was anything other than a lawyer, one might wonder how he can sleep at night, but as a criminal, working for and covering up criminals, I'll bet that local DA sleeps just fine.

Meanwhile the thug gets a 4 month paid vacation. Do you suppose he spent it going to dog fights?

What the heck, if they can shoot puppies and get away with it, then why would any expect them to be charged for “bake a pup”!

If a civilian left their OWN pet dog in their car purely through negligence, they would absolutely get thrown in jail AND convicted; if they killed a police dog under any circumstances, it would be that much worse. Some animals truly are more equal than others.

So he didn’t “intentionally leave the dogs”? How does one accidentally leave a dog in a car? I’m not buying the “exhausted” excuse.

“I think he was exhausted from the job. The demands of working a midnight shift are very harsh on the body,” Rivera said.

Maybe he needs a different job, one less exhausting?

It wasn’t as though he were on duty for 24 hours or more. He shouldn’t be on duty at all if he was that incoherent after his shift.

“And since there is nothing equivalent to a manslaughter charge in the state’s animal cruelty statute, Enriquez should not be held criminally liable for the death of Hektor,”

If it were a civilian that left two police dogs in the car
that citizen would have been charged with killing two
police officers. Seems the cops have been moved to the
victim minority class and are now held less accountable
for their actions. Unlike politicians who have no
accountability what so ever. And I am held accountable
at the point of a gun to set an example for others to
follow.

Doesn’t matter if he didn’t mean to, they’re dead and died a horrible death. He needs to be fired after paying the department for replacement dogs.

Yeah but if a homeowner shot one when coming at them in their own home will wind up in prison for forty years. Even if it was a wrong address.
