It’s a clock, without question. Palin is not an engineer and has no apparent familiarity with electronics. She should defer to those who do.
I’m not saying that this isn’t part of some nefarious scheme by the kid’s Muslim activist family, but the fact remains-the device IS a clock.

Yeah, definitely a clock (as others have pointed out, if the school really thought it was a bomb, they would have evacuated/called the bomb squad/etc.). This is a case where this kid and his family are right, but for 100% the wrong reason. The school absolutely overreacted here, but they didn’t overreact because the kid is a muslim. They overreacted because they are public school officials, and overreacting is what they do best.
A collection of parts, no matter how complicated the individual parts are, is not a clock unless, using it, anyone can determine what time it is.
