The Constitution isnt that hard to understand. So why do you have such a hard time understanding "commander in chief"? A lot of people have conflicting opinions about it. Look at those soldiers who refused to go to Iraq because they claimed Bush needed a DOW to order them there. They were court marshalled, and rightly so.

Because "commander in chief" comes after "constitution" in the oath. It is a matter of sequential logic, thus the focus of this post. And Bush didn't need a DOW, Al Qaeda was already at war with us and Iraq was sheltering them. That wasn't hard to understand sequentially.
