On the short-lived Rush Limbaugh TV show, he did a segment on ribbon wearing. I think he came out on the set wearing all of them, and explain what some of them "stood for".

His own creation was a ribbon folded from a dollar bill standing for "deficit reduction".

I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them don’t question things like ribbons since they’re used to wearing what they’re told to put on by wardrobe people. And I wouldn’t be surprised if they accept a “brief” explanation about such things if they ask about it.
