He would have never been pope back in the 80s.

> Sorry for the vanity post - the more I see of this man, the more disappointing he becomes.

Watch him when the cameras are on him and then again when they aren’t. He has a Pavlov dog type reaction to smile when the camera is on him. As soon as it is off him his smile immediately disappears and he gets an almost evil countenance in him. My gut feeling is that Pope Francis is not a nice person and is evil more than he is good in nature. If you look at his statements and actions it’s evident he’s more wordly than godly. Not a good trait for a Pope.

A person that craven doesn’t deserve the respect of decent people.

Someone who cannot take a stand for good and against evil doesn’t deserve to be Pope.

Definitely! The Head Of Church turned his back on the suffering people of Cuba and abandoned them.

How can any religious Catholic accept Pope Francis as a good person, as a Christian?

As usual, some in the anti-Catholic Freeper crowd are showing the ugly side of Christianity. More false quotes have been attributed to this Pope than any of his predecessors. Did it ever occur to you that this is exactly what the left wants?

Did any of you note his anti-Marxist comments in Cuba? His appeal to the dissidents? His subtle but clear rebuke of the Castro regime? The press didn't report much of that, including the fact that Francis gave Castro books and recordings from Castro's prior orthodox priest teacher when he was a boy - an attempt to call him back to the Church.

Have some charity and give the guy a chance. He hasn't been in country 24 hours and most of you are just repeating the same negative and false bildge that the left has put out there. The Pope does not support the gay rights agenda. He does not oppose free enterprise. He does not oppose air conditioning (except in the Pope mobile where it is superfluous), etc.

Pray for him! Pray for all Christian leaders. But piling on him and dragging him down is not Christian.

I don’t think we’d be speaking Russian but you have the right idea about him being extreme left.

I haven’t been a practicing Catholic in decades. Being a conservative; I find many of the things he’s pushing like globull warming and taking in more refugees to be against what I know to be right.

I’m still a Christian though so he gets a pass but that doesn’t mean I have to support him and won’t.
