My Win 10 computer updated to FF version 41 two days ago and since that time, when I scroll, the page freezes and many times I am unable to get out of it.
This does not happen in the new MSFT browser, just FF.
Anyone else having issues?
Firefox is what I use for accessing my pics at Photobucket as IE stops working there at times.
Yesterday Firefox was freezing up, knocking me of the internet again and again..I blamed it on Photobucket errors on page. Maybe not so after all.
I have yet to download 10...still using 7.
WIN 10 seems pretty stable.
It’s FF that is giving me headaches.....and I have checked my settings in FF such as hardware acceleration (unchecked), etc .
It drives me crazy!!
Thanks!
Thanks....I have checked all of these yesterday.
I wonder if the flash player has something to do with it as I recall that updated at the same time!
Any site that uses Flash is way behind the curve.
Yeah, I think you put your finger on the issue with these browsers...
It's not the web page content that is the problem, it's the friggin adverts with flash movies etc..
Ya just can't make this crap up...
Right now, at this moment in time, the most stable browser I have is on my win 10 machine....My win seven with three optional browsers is having difficulties with all of them..
Something similar happened to me with firefox on Windows 8 recently.
I resolved it by going to Control Panel > Mouse, then going to the tab with the Scroll Wheel settings, and changing the number of lines to scroll with each click. Saved it. Then changed it back and saved it again. Was able to scroll properly in Firefox after resetting.
Yes, pages that still use flash adverts seem to freeze on loading in newer browsers a good percentage of the time. Install AdBlockPlus, it will help just by stopping the flash from loading in the first place.
I backed off the Flash update and it still froze. Now I'm back on Firefox 40.0.3 and all is OK.
I have Ad block Plus and apparently it was not on so I turned it on and re-started the browser. We’ll see if that helps!
Yeah....but these particular websites don’t function at all when you block the ads...
At least that has been my experience..
I don’t have any issues at all with sites that do not depend heavily on advertising..but many do and if I block the ads, I usually cannot play the vid or media clip, or whatever it was I was looking for...
Not all web developers do this but it seems to be a growing problem..
I think this problem was anticipated by many...
Monetization of the web is now not only normal, but required by many entities..
Turn on Windows Firewall. Then go to Control Panel> Windows Firewall
Allow a program or feature thriugh Windows Firewall
Allow Firefox.
In Windows 7 you do the same. Mine was stuttering on pages and I thought it was Firefox. I even tried earlier versions http://www.oldapps.com but had the same effect. Since doing the above it has been way better.
I looked and it is checked for “private” but not for public.
Correction: “Mozilla Firefox” allows private but when I click on Configure Windows Firewall, “FireFox” has a check in the “public” category.
Yes. I have exactly the same problem. I keep a “Task Manager” window open just so I can force Firefox closed when it freezes.
I updated to FF 41 for OS X and Android . No problems on either of those platforms.
