She wasn’t even in the kayak. I feel cheated.
Thank goodness I muted that video. If I had been forced to listen to the whole thing, I think I would have punctured both of my eardrums with screwdrivers.
As a professional Vocal Coach and Voice Teacher, I have to say that she definitely has a future....in a career as an ultrasound crowd control device. (Which, apparently, does not work on bears)
Agreed: her dulcet tones are aural manna from heaven to my crude and unworthy ears.
I’d pay good money for her to stand next to my bed and lull me to sleep every night.

Well, the big take-away for me was that black bears obviously do not understand English.
I don’t own a kayak, but in a similar situation, I likely would have used other words.

No - but it did tear the kayak apart pretty good. I imagine it had crumbs of snacks she had along the way. The gal ends up swimming out to the sail boat anchored in the bay (presumably she is so afraid of the bear the cabin isn’t enough protection!). Then she called for help. (She’s lucky she had cell-phone service!)
Still not as impressive as that polar bear chewing on the rudder of the USS Connecticut.
Funny - found it on the net. One article used the incident to talk about global warming. (Of course).
Hmm - just like this black bear. “It’s September - you’re supposed to be sleeping!”

What a voice she has. The bear could have taken a swipe at her because of her screeching but she was lucky he was tone deaf.
It would have been better if she had shot the bear. It is obviously a problem bear that will either be shot now or cause some serious problems and be shot later. She did not have a gun, perhaps because of all the propaganda in the Schools and the media.
As for talking to the bear, how many of us have talked to inanimate objects when under stress?
“Come on car, just make it to the next exit! Come on baby, I promise I have get you tuned up and an oil change!”
This may be a wake-up call for her.
Any woman that is doing a long distance solo sea kayak trip, is no wall flower.
I would like to meet her (and teach her to shoot, if she does not know, already).
