So other than the detachable screen being a tablet (a feature costing & explaining the $200 difference), the MS Surface Book is at best no different than a MacBook Pro.

No different if you don’t consider it has a REAL GPU in it which makes it twice as fast on a lot of tasks. Did you see how it handled the video editing?
