It’s good to see that there are still young folks who place decent behavior above personal gain.

As for the officials who disqualified the winning runner, they have sent exactly the wrong message. The disqualification was petty, and needless.

No good deed shall go unpunished.

Welcome to the brave new world.

Did his assistance of the other runner help that faltering runner beat another? I could see that being an issue. However, from the video report it sounds like it was more a case of just helping the guy finish. If his assistance was only a difference between a last place and a DNF for that other runner I don’t see a problem with it. The officials should be ashamed of their narrow-minded blind bureaucratic application of the rules. That’s too easy, they don’t have to think, just memorize.

This is exactly what we have come to expect from the high paid union idiots working for our local school district. It is lucky he didn’t chew a pop tart into the shape of the gun after the ruling was made. He would have been expelled and arrested.

I was just thinking that the rule that he broke sounded like a restrictive union rule.

Too bad there isn’t a Don Corleone type person who can make the bureaucrat thug official an offer he can’t refuse.
