Well, I picked out a couple of scary movies for my FRiday Night Movie post(s) this week.

Other than that, not too much. I don’t get many kids out my way anymore, so I stopped doing the giving out candy thing a few years back. When I did, I usually dressed up as a Viking (made my own scale armor and everything) and handed out bags of candy from my “plunder chest.” Lots of fun.

In the interest of saving little children from the ravages of a high sugar, high chocolate diet, I have been consuming candy at a prodigious rate.

I am forced to admit, that no matter how well-intentioned my acts may be, I cannot do this alone. Therefore I implore my fellow FReepers to join with me in the consumption of candy that would otherwise be spilled onto sidewalks, smeared on young faces and clothing, or fed to unappreciative canines.

Yes, I am kidding, but I will be glad when the season is over and I can return to losing a few stone.

Dressed up as Ted Cruz and visited GOP houses.

Er... thats a lie. I wouldn’t be alive if I did that. But I might really be haunting them ;)

We live down at the end of a dark, dead-end road, with lots of forest and wilderness. Real-life heebie-jeebies, so kids don't come this way, period. Kinda sucks, though, 'cuz I got the whole Viking thing down pat.

Decorated the front of the house, and yard w/orange string lights, scarecrows, and scarecrow witches, creepy cloth, pumpkins, and mums. The theme is friendly spooky.

Also made spooky eyes with toilet paper tubes, and glow sticks. Mason jar lanterns with fake spider webs, plastic bugs, and led tea lights, and some dollar tree ghost kits.
Those three things were projects I did w/ the special needs child next door.

The rain is now falling, and thunderstorms are expected through Saturday. I usually have about 200 trick or treaters, but with 11 churches doing “trunk or treat”, and rain, I will probably have a lot of snickers, and m & m’s around here.

I am in sunny Mexico so we will be celebrating the next day as the Day of the Dead, which happens to be my B-day (All Saints Day). I think this holiday is bigger than X-mas here!

“Dressed up as Ted Cruz and visited GOP houses.”

What, no Carly Fiorina costume or Hillary Clinton Wicked Witch of the East costume?

Have out apples and noise makers a few years back and the trick or treaters stopped coming

Several of local churches have children dress as Bible characters. Best ones I’ve seen were three young boys dressed as the armor of God with shield , swords and body armor covered with tags of truth, love etc.
Their mom said they got into a battle on which would wear which attribute so with their help they made three copies of each

As a grade schooler, we used to ‘bob for apples’, and it was fun. Now, I’m too much aware of what e-coli is and can do to you, so I don’t today’s school kids to ‘bob’ for anything anymore. Universal Precautions, you know. They can still have some red and caramel candied apples.

There was a cider mill nearby in Michigan called the Frankenmuth Cider Mill. Always a delight to visit anytime of the year, but especially in autumn. The Cider Mill was located on a wide street that was lined with oaks, elms and maples. All these trees will have begun turning colors by now, in late October.

We are taking the red head granddaughter out for trick or treat on Saturday. She is going out dressed as Sheriff Callie. I would rather do this than hit the lottery. Family time is the best times.

I’ve been saving the condiment packets from fast food places. I added some unshelled pecans to the mix. Any teens who come to my door with no costume will get these. Little kids in costume get candy.

My wife says I’m going to get us egged.

It’s Dress-Up Day in the cube farm today.

I am wearing plain clothes, but carrying around a box of Cheerios with a knife stuck into it.

If anyone asks, I reply “I’m a cereal killer” - with a wild-eyed stare.

I’ve had people back away and leave me alone...
