I dropped my newspaper subscription awhile back. No need for it. I get all the info. I need from the internet. And certainly the best source for political news is Free Republic. All the other stuff here (gardening, etc.) is just a nice bonus.
So it occurred to me. It only seems fair to send that old yearly newspaper subscription money to FR instead. I'll be taking care of that this week.

We have subscribed to the Houston Chronicle or Comical as I like to call it. I have thought many times about canceling because it is so liberal.
Then a local election comes up and I can count on them telling me who to vote for. It doesn’t work out the way they think, they are telling me who NOT to vote for with their endorsement of the most liberal candidates for every office.
We have so much here that is valuable - prayer threads, science including medical info (some of which has helped me greatly), humor, and very interesting points of view on current events.
I always come here to see other’s opinions - usually I agree but I always find them interesting.
FR is a valuable resource and for me well worth my monthly contribution.
We are down to Sunday only
I dropped my newspaper subscription 15 years ago and never regretted it for a moment.
