I retired...forced retirement...earlier this year. Just turned 66 on Nov. 4th so I’m not THAT old but I did over 20 years steady overnight, walked back and forth 4-5 miles round trip, and lived a pretty hard life so my health isn’t all it should be. I aged beyond my years.
Still wouldn’t change anything though, I’m thankful for what the Lord has given.
I DO get angry over what has happened to the country over the years.
That said, beer helps but I keep this passage from a song in mind. John Prine, “Bruised Orange”
You can gaze out the window
Get mad and get madder
Throw you hands in the air Say “What does it matter?”
But it don’t do no good to get angry
So help me I know
For a heart stained in anger
Grows weak and grows bitter
You become your own prisoner
As you watch yourself sit there wrapped [up in a trap
Of your very own chain of sorrow.
