Our "invulnerable" Navy is short ships, short men, and VERY short replacement shipbuilding capacity.

You are entirely correct. Our navy us currently under-manned, under-equipped and over-tasked. You can't keep cutting funds and expect the same level of performance. Eventually things start to break, men and machines.

This is only the latest in a string of publicized war-game failures our Navy has suffered.

Last year or maybe a couple of years ago, our Navy leased the use of a diesel electric submarine built for the Swedes, I believe. It was to train our boat crews on how to hunt for that type of sub. Don’t know if we still lease the use of the Swedish sub.
