Miami is expected to hire former Georgia head coach Mark Richt as its head coach, a source told SI's Thayer Evans.
Peter Ariz of CanesInSight.com first reported the news.
Richt, who played quarterback at Miami from 1979â1982, coached Georgia for 15 seasons starting in 2001 until he was fired earlier this week. He compiled a 145â51 record with the Bulldogs, including an 83â37 mark in conference play.

He will be a great coach.He hired some bad coordinators toward the end at UGA. I think a fresh start will do great for him
You will win 9-10 games a year but not against FSU or Clemson. He does not win the big games.
Can’t stand “Duh-U”, but like Richt very much. He is too good of a coach to have been unemployed for long.
Miami will improve and quickly.
“The U” has a fully-deserved reputation for its thuggish players, so in addition to Richt’s ability to generate additional wins on the gridiron it won’t hurt that his presence and personal character will contribute to improving both the school’s reputation and also the expectations for its players’ better behavior.
