Solar activity is at a minimum causing many scientists to predict a strong cooling period is ahead.
There was no ice at the pole when the dinosaurs ran around, the climate in what is now Alaska was like the Pacific Northwest today.
And until Antarctic was surrounded by ocean to act as a barrier of cold water and cold air currents to turn the continent into an ice box, it was more like the tundra today than the miles thick ice it currently has.
That corresponded with the rise of the Himalayas, whose weathering pulled a lot of CO2 out of the atmosphere.
End result? The planet shifted from tropical everywhere but far north and south to ice age cycles every 100K years. And in the warm period, it is rarely more than a degree or two F warmer than today, but it is often three to five degrees cooler - and the ice ages are ten or so degrees colder than today.
In short, we are around 10 degrees F (or more) below Earth’s historic (40 million years plus) normal temperature.
And we are several degrees above its 40-million year shift to cold, if you average in the ice ages.
And while there are disruptions, the planet has survived much warmer AND much colder.
The main premis of global warming is that molecular level increases in CO2 in the atmosphere due to human activity is the SOLE cause of climate change. This theory ignores known variations in solar output, the effect of wholly natural phenomenon like volcanoes, errors in temperature data and should be suspect because of strong evidence of data manipulation and outright fraud. The best evidence of the failure of the theory is that anyone who disagrees or questions the theory is labeled a “denier” ..read heretic. Science is never settled and attempts to stifle any dissent are no different than the Inquisition.
Droughts and Flooding are both evidence of climate change.
Cold Winters and Mild Winters are both evidence of climate change.
Hot Summers and Mild Summers are both evidence of climate change.
Many hurricanes and few hurricanes are both evidence of climate change.
Tornadoes are evidence of climate change.
Volcanic activity is evidence of climate change
Earth quakes is evidence of climate change.
Climate change is real because it is impossible to disprove.
Letââ¬â¢s call this the "Null Hypothesis." Logically therefore, the burden of proof is on alarmists to demonstrate that the Null Hypothesis is not adequate to account for empirical climate data; alarmists must provide convincing observational evidence for Anthropogenic CC (ACC).
Even more fundamentally, THEY'RE the ones proposing we do something new. They can't very well take the position "We think there's this danger, and we're going to take steps to guard against it, unless YOU prove it's not true", especially when those steps are anti-freedom and anti-rights, and empower the government at the people's expense. YOU'RE the ones who think the status quo is wrong, YOU have the burden of proof.
The only "Inconvenient Truth" is that Fat Al won't step up and debate this issue. Maybe if that chicken sh*t would actually debate GW, it could be publicly debunked.
[[The burden of proof for Anthropogenic Climate Change falls on alarmists.]]
No American thinker it doesn’t- why doesn’t it fall on them? Because they have learned a truth- and that truth is this: That if they say a LIE and no one seriously call them on it, then the burden of proof means absolutely squat because no one will make a move to stop them
They have learned this fact-
That the truth is whatever they say it is, and that is the end of the story, because NOONE will hold them accountable for their LIE
Climate Depot- James INhoffe- Lord Mopnkton etc etc etc have reams and reams and reams of scientific evidence proving man is not causing climate change, and it makes not one bit of difference because NOONE on the right will stand with these brave few souls because they are scared crapless by the left
“Obviously, the causes were all of natural origin, and not anthropogenic.”
Not so. After Eve ate the fruit and gave it to Adam, God said, “There’s going to be some changes in the climate around here, boy!” And that’s how it all started. Now, don’t get me started on the Flood - that was climate change big time ;- )
