Princeton University begins to examine Woodrow Wilson's legacy

... Woodrow Wilson - the former university president who gives his name to both a residential college and a graduate school - had racist values, the committee website said.

The committee was formed in response to recent protests on campus last month, during which members and supporters of the student organization the Black Justice League, stormed University President Christopher Eisgruber's office. They held a 32-hour sit-in, demanding changes to make the campus more inclusive for black students.

One of their demands - which became hotly debated over the ensuing weeks - was that Princeton University publicly acknowledge Wilson's racist history and do away with his name at the graduate school and residential college.

After meeting with protesters last month, Eisgruber spoke with trustees and sent a letter to the Princeton University community, saying that the trustees would form a subcommittee to look into Wilson's history.

Eisgruber stayed true to his word this week when the university announced both the formation of the subcommittee and a website they launched to receive community input on Wilson's history and allegedly racist values.

In addition to seeking input from people affiliated with the university, the committee plans to gather information on Wilson from scholars and biographers who specialize in the former president's history and post that to the site.

Members of the subcommittee also plan to come to campus early next semester to meet with people from the university - including students, staff and faculty - in person.

The goal of the subcommittee is to consider whether the university should change the way they remember Wilson and his legacy, Henry said in a press release Wednesday.

...and so begins the revisionist history of the United States as sponsored by President Ovomit. This will be the legacy of his Presidency - more divisiveness, more alienation, more radicalism and the erasure of long held values like that there was, for a better or worse value and knowledge passed on from generations of Americans. If Ovomit would be able to hang on for another 4-8 years, America would reach the gutter.

Well well well . . .

Will the Left begin taking a second look at more of their "progressive" forebears? How about Margaret Sanger?

Wilson really was the original vile racist KKK-supporting progressive Democratic. We don’t need to defend him. In fact it’s good for the Democratic party to face their KKK past.
