I did the math a while back and when all state, local, property, sales, fuel, service, random taxes were accounted for, I realized I spent approximately half the year working for one government or another and every year, there’s always someone looking to raise taxes even more. and Obama still added 10 trillion to the debt in 10 years and we still have very little to show for it. This has to end.

I did those calculations, along with calculating that if we kept paying into socialized security at the max rate, we’d see a very small return (pay in about $150K mire, $300K if you count the employer portion, and would only get $40K more if we lived to the average lifespan. And we’d be the first ones cut when they ‘fix’ SS.
So we quit - went Galt and are done supporting this fascist government.
