Oh! Well, anyway, I sympathize with anyone confronted by vicious dogs while trying to do business. That's one good reason for refusing to deliver. Home security can be much better controlled than that. Even a canine pen gate can be remote controlled with an easy enough installation, so that legitimate visitors can arrive in peace.

As for winter, we usually have deliveries done before the roads become impassable and clear a route if necessary during winter (spraying ice during windy times resulting in ice dunes, snow blower required in some places not well enough covered by snow fences). It works well for at least one driver who reads customer messages or gives a phone call and doesn't jump to conclusions.

I guess that short attention spans, vanities or apathy in either customers or folks with carriers might cause some of the problems.
