And THAT’S the point - it’s a matter of taste, not a sacred belief (although some act like it is).

Imagine food scientists find a way to genetically manipulate a cow so that you get a clone that is only part of a cow, the part that makes steaks and roasts (no head, no brain, no hide, no hooves, etc.), just meat and (maybe) bones growing out of a nutrient jelly or something. I’m not a vegetarian. I eat a lot of meat, but have some small concern for the suffering of animals grown for me to eat. If I could have an identical product without any being suffering, I would use it (especially if it turned out cheaper because no feed would be “wasted” on the parts of the animal that we don’t eat).
