Does anyone have any comments about springer air rifles in general, and the .25 calibre specifically? Giving consideration

Hmmm, .25 caliber, seems a might small, are you sure you wouldn't prefer something a tad bigger, like this?

Seriously though I wish I could help you.

I prefer the smaller caliburs because the pellant velocity is much higher. .22 is a good compromise.

Springers are nice because you don’t have to worry about air supply. I think .17 and .22 are much more common than .25 and you would ave a much greater selection.

My property is overrun with ground squirrels. I cannot reach them with the limited range of the .25. .22 is just right for ground squirrels.

Depending on where you live, .25 cal pellets may be harder to find than .22 and .177.
High power spring guns are a bit difficult to learn to shoot accurately if you have not tried them.

My .22 rifle firing CCI Mini Caps makes less noise than my Diana .177 air rifle. Both work for pest control.

I like the ease of use and maintenance of traditional break-open spring piston air rifles, but they aren't the easiest things to be proficient with, and the more powerful they are, the more disconcerting the "snap." From what I've seen and read the last couple of years, the PCP air rifles are really eating the springers' lunch in anything over .22 caliber.

.22 is a good compromise. Yep

I would like to use my .22 rifle but city law does not allow it. I have tried both springers and gas from .177, .22, and .25. My problem with gas is that the trajectory is not repeatable from shot to shot. The .22 spring breaker seems to work the best.

My friend bought a .25 air rifle many moons ago. We were never able to find a ready supply of pellets though so rarely shot it.

Stoeger Arms X50 Breakbarrel Air Rifle That one appears to be the same type/model/series as the one used by my daughters trainer to shoot pigeons at the barn. She seems pleased with it and the barn cats get plenty of pigeons to feast upon.
