Congratulations, Apple!
.
Anyone that thinks this is good news is a fool.
Yay! Windows 10 > OS X
Chuckle.
LOL...riigghhhttt
Wait for the spin doctors. aka Apple iGroupies. “We have a new crowned king of security holes. That makes us safer!”
And they only own what, 11% of the personal computing market? And they have 1000’s of Indians checking software in their supposed “secure store”?
I just cite what’s there. Don’t get mad at me. Get mad at CVE Details for posting CVE statistics.
I am a professional developer. OS X, iOS, and Windows. I have 6 Macs, 2 Windows PCs, and numerous iPads. I have never run antivirus on any Mac. Ever.
Try that on a Windows box sometime.
Based on all the vulnerabilities and holes in their operating systems, perhaps you should!
Vulnerable Software Alert Ping
Nope. Mac professionals don’t do antivirus or anti-malware. Don’t need to.
I have seen so many of these FUD articles over my many years of running macs, I no longer pay attention to them.
No specifics mentioned in this one as to exactly what the vulnerabilities might be.
There are always stupid users, I suppose.
Really? So if someone sends you an infected file and you pass it along to your other non Apple friends that’s OK with you?
That right there is complete security mismanagement. I used to fire my security people for doing such irresponsible behavior.
Going out on the internet or any network without protection is like going into a Saigon whore house without a box of rubbers.
I hear the same thing from Linux users. Most of the malware out on the internet is being served up by hacked Linux servers.
And there are also stupid arrogant asses who think just because some idiot told them their system was totally secure they would take their word for it and say “not my problem”.
Security is everyone’s problem. And this shows just how arrogant Apple owners are thinking their systems are as secure as a military-grade computer. What a bunch of stupidity at the highest level. Even if you are secure doesn’t mean you being on the network means you can’t pass your crappy email viruses onto other parts of the network and take the entire network down because of this crass behavior.
The latest Apple/Mac/iOS Pings can be found by searching Keyword "ApplePingList" on FreeRepublic's Search.
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me
It’s quite apparent how many of these so-called Apple network administrators are in actuality “security cowboys”. Or just plain liars. No?
Vulnerabilities do not equal exploits, Up Yours Marxists. Call us when there are exploitable vulnerabilities which cause loss of data or invasion of machines. Until then look to the log in your own eye.
No.
I've never met anyone who claimed to be an "Apple network administrator". I've seen people claim that Linux or OSX is immune to malware, and they are dead nuts wrong.
GO MAC!
