The definition of 'support for the rule of law' is that Cruz applies it to ONLY felons, NEVER anywhere are there words addressing those who are *not* 'caught'. Those already here, by the hundreds of thousands, is a discussion he will NOT have.

Rita,

You are describing Rubio's position, not Cruz's.

Re-examine your understanding of Cruz's position on immigration and read his position paper. On other topics, you are well informed, so I presume that you will see through the fog.

Hey, you guys are no slouches. :)

AuntB had a heck of a link upthread. I need to freeze that thing!

The reason I am entrenched with TRUMP is the issue of illegal invasion by the gazillion.

Naturally, we go ballistic hearing Cruz circle that issue in legalese that his supporters do not understand.

Cruz is for squat on deporting ALL illegals. They can stay! He is supports only the single illegal committing a crime, and is caught, being deported. Only hat one gets deported.

Thanks, gg188. I appreciate you. Rita

You are not listening to Cruz. You are supporting a pathway to legalization. Go for it.

You are too literal. For good reasons, Cruz never utters to words "deport" or "self-deport". He wants to build a consensus, not bluster.

Cruz's policy is set out in detail but, in essence is to "enforce existing law". That includes e-verify, which means: no jobs, no welfare, no schools, no sanctuary cities, no catch-and-release and, for starters build a wall and triple enforcement.

Cruz is not going to attempt to deport twenty million people. That is both impossible and a demagogue's easy throw-away line. Cruz's program will solve the problem rather than talk about it, and do so in a practical and politically acceptable manner.

This was to discredit Rubio more than an endorsement for a particular candidate.

Sessions staff member is “borrowed temporarily” to assist Trump’s understanding of immigration etc. You can expect soon Trump will soften about full deportaions of illegals.....but strengthen in opposing amnesty.

No.... Sessions is instructing, not supporting, Trump’s stance on immigration because Trump was and is not informed on what he can and cannot do legally. Trump couldn’t put together a plan out his ignorance.....Sessions stepped in to help him put it together and loaned Troop his staff member to stay on course rather than spout out things he cannot do as he once did.

I repeat only this, that Cruz knows exactly where every single Cheap Labor Express vote is, on Capital Hill, same as Rubio.

Cruz knows very well that but for Cantor being canned, the Cheap Labor Express would have already been passed.

Cruz knows very well that if he can just duck out long enough on the question, and evade the issue, he could as president throw it over to Capital Hill, where it dies.

Big Business is against E-Verify. Cruz wants to be prez and he will hide behind Congress, who is *for* Cruz’ pathway to legalization amendment.

Shell game = Cruz

(1) That is not the way Sessions tells it. Cruz was the deciding factor in killing the Gang of Eight bill.

(2) The balance of what you say is supposition, based on your misunderstanding of Cruz's motives.

(3) You repeat the 'pathway to legalization' canard. Once again, listen to the man who fought the good fight with Cruz: Jeff Sessions. Sessions says Cruz introduced all these amendments to kill the bill, not so that you and others should take him literally. To top it off, Cruz succeeded and saved our country unfathomable harm.

Thank you for your patience, but how was Cruz’ recommendation for legalization for illegal INVADERS the deciding factor?

The deciding factor was not Cruz, but the election LOSS of Cantor. Let’s just check that timeline.

After that Cantor loss, Cruz was proven wrong for saying that Americans wanted a pathway to legalization, by the stunning CANTOR LOSS.

The Gang 8 folded, but Cruz was still stuck with his absurd amendment recommending legalization.

The rest is history.

Cruz then had to create the dirty trick excuse, saying what he really meant by his absurd recommendation, was that it would cause the failure of the bill.

Cruz still has not denied that sentence for legalization, IF you are listening. He redirects away from it, by quoting federal law for deporting those who are “caught”.

Translation = only felons

Cruz never addresses the hundreds of thousands who are not “caught” in the same sentence with deportation.

Cruz will deport NOBODY. (Except caught felons”)

Are seeing the irony here? :-)
