Sessions Makes Final Plea to New Hampshire Voters
Washington Examiner ^ | 2/5/2016 | Anna Giaritelli

Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama issued a final warning Friday night to New Hampshire Republicans about making the wrong decision at the polls on Tuesday.

The Senate Immigration and National Interest subcommittee chairman told New England syndicated radio host Howie Carr that the Granite State primary is the last chance for the public to steer the election in the right direction before it's too late.

"If the American people nominate a Republican candidate who favors amnesty and citizenship for illegals, who would favor a massive increase in the number of legal immigrants to America and not effectively deal with the illegal immigrants, then the matter is lost," Sessions said.

The GOP senator, who provided the "intellectual groundwork for Donald Trump's campaign" message on immigration, said New Hampshire residents and all primaries need to ask candidates about their positions on immigration and trade. Sessions recently lost his former communications director Stephen Miller to Trump. Miller crafted Trump's immigration plan and now serves as an adviser to the Manhattan billionaire, indicating the immigration hawk senator may have reason to endorse Trump.

Sessions would not choose between Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas or Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida for the man who better embodies conservative immigration views, saying he would endorse a candidate in the future. But, just as Rubio has been gaining in the New Hampshire polls and could be in a position to hit second place, Sessions was quick to criticize Rubio for the role he played in the 2013 Gang of Eight comprehensive immigration bill that passed the Senate but failed in the House.

"We should not nominate somebody who adheres to the views carried out by the Gang of Eight immigration bill," Sessions warned. He urged listeners to ask Rubio if his about-face on immigration is truly the case or if he would support his original views if he won the White House.

I believe Sessions will eventually come out for Trump.

Yes, Sessions is a good politician, so he will wait to see if Donald Trump has real voter appeal before endorsing him. If Trump wins big in New Hampshire and South Carolina, that may be enough for Sessions to endorse.

Asked and answered - he does not support the original bill

Trump’s revolving door touchback amnesty plan is not acceptable. The “wall” Trump proposes is already law. My primary candidate at the time was responsible for getting it passed:

Only Ted Cruz proposes actually following the law without the amnesty carrot and stick that all the others support.

I like it that Sessions is attacking the ‘issue’ and not (so far) attacking or supporting a particular candidate.

This is THE defining issue of our time, and it shouldn't even be necessary. After the 1986 amnesty, our border should have immediately been shut down, a pause should have been done on legal immigration, and Ted Kennedy's immigration law should have been repealed.

The U.S. then goes back to a quota system favoring Western and Northern Europeans, a lottery for Asians and Hispanics (proving that they have their own assets and barred from taxpayer services), and a permanent ban from African and Muslim nations.

But wasn't he FOR amnesty back in the middle of last year ?

Trust Rubio at the risk of losing the country. Rubio ran on the issue of “no amnesty” in Florida. He vowed to the people of Florida that there would be no amnesty on his watch.

He hadn’t even unpacked his suitcase in Washington before he was in collusion with the Democrats and RINOs crafting the Gang of 8 bill. Rubio has recently given speeches in Spanish to illegal immigrant groups vowing to legalize them. He will not rescind the Dream Act and has said so.

Rubio is a LIAR and cannot be trusted.

Looks like the has not strayed very far from the Gang of Eight bill.

This from Meet the Press, 1/17/16

CHUCK TODD:

Let me ask you by the way quickly on the 11 million, are you still for finding a way for them to legally stay in the United States?

MARCO RUBIO:

Yeah, look. If you’re a criminal alien, no, you can’t stay. If you’re someone that hasn’t been here for a very long time, you can’t stay.

CHUCK TODD:

Wait a minute. Define criminal alien—

MARCO RUBIO:

I do believe we have to have a reasonable solution—

CHUCK TODD:

De— define criminal alien. Isn’t anybody who’s here—

MARCO RUBIO:

A felon. A felon—

CHUCK TODD:

Okay, so not— ‘cause some people argue—

MARCO RUBIO:

Well I know some people have said that before but I believe—

CHUCK TODD:

Okay, all right—

MARCO RUBIO:

—the opposite. But— no, but I’ve said that before, Todd. That’s been convinced. I mean, a felon, someone who’s committed a crime, a non-immigration-related— and that’s what I’ve talked about in the past. So I do believe— I don’t think you’re gonna round up and deport 12 million people.

Here’s what I’ve said, though. It is very clear now more than ever that we are not going to be able to do anything on people that are illegally until we first prove to people that illegal immigration is under control and America is safe. And ISIS poses a very unique threat unlike anything we have faced in the past.

Rush conveniently ignored the above exchange this past week so he could call Rubio a Reagan disciple, a “full-throated conservative”.

Rubio has definitely changed his position. I will support him. He made a mistake and knows it. Cruz made a mistake in Iowa and blames everyone else. That is the difference for me.

He just said he will keep Obama’s illegal amnesty fpr illegal aliens in place.

He lied when he ran for office, against amnesty.
He lied about what was in the bill when he was trying to sell us that snake oil.
He lied about changing his mind.
He’s lying now. He is just as committed to abandoning the rule of law and surrendering the country as when he was scheming with Schumer against the citizens with the rest of the Gang.

You are deluding yourself

Sorry but you can find nowhere that Ted Cruz addresses anything but AMNESTY for the hoards of invaders already here, with the single exception that one is “caught”. That one, Ted will deport, citing “federal law”.

I have personally seen TV interviews where he is asked on four different occasions about not the felons, but about those who are already here by the hundreds of thousands now, and TED CRUZ WILL NOT ANSWER.

He was for AMNESTY in his proposal amendment, citing enforcement of deportation law, only for those illegal invaders who are “caught”, which means felons. The rest who are already infiltrated quietly into our society, he said were eligible for “LEGALIZATION”, so they could come
“out of the shadows”.

Cruz has said nothing to the contrary since that amendment, but denies, instead, his own proposal.

Denial is not a strategy. Do we want red states turned blue, because Cruz is sympathetic to an invasion?

Yes, sympathetic. What else do you call no strategy, no accountability, no consequences, no deportations for the socialist hordes who are already here.

Wake up. If Cruz were not *for* AMNESTY, he would stop hiding behind his caterwalling remarks of diversion to the subject of felons, to cover up for having NOTHING to say about those gazillion here, illegally, who are not felons.

Cruz supports NO DEPORTTIONS but for felons. Check it out.
That is AMNESTY.

Crickets.

Reagan thought he could make a deal with Democrats, just as Trump does.
So Reagan made a deal that 3.5 million illegals could have amnesty if the border was closed. The Democrats gained millions of new voters and the border stayed open to admit millions more….now supposedly 11 million, which will magically morph into 20 million as soon as amnesty is declared. That’s the kind of “compromise” Democrats and their media love!

Reagan should never have trusted the Democrats. Insanity is to repeat the same mistake by electing someone who thinks he could deal with Democrats….particularly since he was a Democrat until the last election.
