Because they sell more things we want and need . They don7t need Chevys - they have Toyota , Honda, Nissan , Mazda , Subaru , Mitsubishi , Suzuki ( cars in Japan ) , Daihatsu , etc...What should Japan be buying from us that they aren’t already ???

A good chunk of that is automobiles that Americans WANT . I think Japan exported 16,000,000 cars to the US last year . Average price 25,000 dollars ? Do the math .
