Ping!
Obama’s FBI
What is the betting that the Apple phone had stuff which showed someone important, whose initials might or might not resemble V.J., approving of the attack or helping to smooth the way? /sarc>
There's the answer to the FBI problem. They need to hire more Chinese and Bulgarian hackers. They should tuck their tail between their legs, give up and slink away.

Odds are, there was nothing worth knowing on that phone. Generally, Islamist agents prefer to use an ISIS-provided encryption app. But, since was an employer issued phone, they wouldn't likely install the app on it -- since it would be subject to inspection.
However, the couple was seen throwing items into a nearby lake the day prior to the attack. That was probably the phone(s) and laptop(s) that contained the information the FBI is after.
Seems like big news to me!

Thanks. . . got it . . . appreciate the posting!
It wasn’t an error, it was done on purpose.
They claim they can’t get to the info on the phone to explain the missing 18 minutes (the time after the shootings and before the couple is executed while driving their rented SUV around the area aimlessly).
They know what was on the phone. Which was either ‘nothing’, or indications that the couple were not alone (the third shooter). It was a business phone. The couple had two cell phone which they destroyed. Those had something on them. Not this one.
But the FBI needs an excuse for not having to explain why the couple didn’t just flee the area.
Besides, Apple already said they would ‘unlock’ the phone.
Our ‘government’ wants Apple to give the FBI a tool to hack any Apple phone, any time. That is what Apple is refusing to provide.
“F.B.I. personnel apparently believed that by resetting the iCloud password, they could get access to information stored on the iPhone.”
Complete BS. The FBI is not that incompetent.
F.B.I. personnel apparently believed that by resetting the iCloud password, they could get access to information stored on the iPhone. Instead, the change had the opposite effect locking them out and eliminating other means of getting in.
Apparently the FBI is too stupid to use google to look for an answer before they went ahead and reset the password. They might have also considered mocking up the locked phone on a different iPhone and trying to access that one first as a test. How can they be so freaking incompetent!
No wonder Apple is feeling contrary!
I would too!
“We tried to knock down your door and well, the porch fell down. Now we need to bulldoze your home.”
And they admitted that their request is not just about “this one phone”, and if they get their way on this one they fully intend to make Apple open other phones. They even had the sister of a murder victim in the crowd, talking about how they needed to unlock the victim’s phone to see if they could determine if she was murdered by someone she knew. Once again, they have nothing to support the idea that there is ANY evidence on the phone. While they certainly should have the right to search the phone if they can get in, how does that give them the right to force Apple to create a tool to break the security of the phone?
This falls squarely in hussein's lap. Chief LEO of the US isn't he?
"in some instances it has turned over data stored in iCloud"
So why not now?
I bet if the FBI had simply called Apple, they would have gotten good advice.
‘That is what Apple is refusing to provide.’
I am really glad Apple stuck to their guns!
