However, Academia, like the Media, Entertainment, and the Race Hustlers, are one of the pillars of the Liberal Establishment. The laws don't apply to them. Not until the Trump Administration's Department of Justice starts looking at it. :>)

And they still have not figured out that Obama’s college loans are funding the colleges thru the back door.

“Instead of #1, revoke the antitrust exemption given to accreditation agencies- then prosecute them for what amounts to collusion.”
That’s fine going forward.
But I’m much more interested in giving a bunch of criminals who ripped off the American public over the last 2 generations a long, free stay at the Graybar Hotel.

You had to remind me of parking, which eats up 5% of our massive raise.

Bingo. When I got here we had one provost and one dean for liberal arts. Now it’s three and give. Student body has grown only 20% in last 20 years.

I hear you. In 2004, we were paying $15 a month to park on campus (not for our own reserved spot, just to be able to fight for one of the campus spots). For the last year, we’ve been paying $41.50 a month, and there are fewer parking spaces, because they’re building more buildings. In July, they’re going to raise the price to at least $46 a month and probably more. Balance that against our whopping 1% COLA pay increase, and you might break even.

Overspending on expensive amenities - money not spent on education, but on real estate and fancy buildings to advance the empires and stroke the egos of grandiose administrators and wealthy alumni - like the new campus being developed by south Jersey's little Stockton University in the middle of Atlantic City - pushed by the University and the state (with taxpayer money)to help rescue Atlantic City which is broke after the collapse of its casino industry - sure will be neat to be able to study "environmental science" right there on the boardwalk - but it would have been cheaper for sure, and maybe permitted a cut in tuition, if the needed classrooms - if indeed they're really needed - could have been built back in the woods on the University campus......

RE: I started at Georgetown in 1979-80, and the tuition was $4,450/year. Now it is now a hair over $48,000.
According to this inflation calculator,
http://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl?cost1=4450&year1=1979&year2=2016
based on average inflation, the tuition should be just about $15,000 in 2016.
Something has caused tuition to go up TRIPLE the average inflation rate.
