Is anybody up on this wildfire in Kansas/Oklahoma. Last I heard this thing hasd already consumed 71,000 acres in less than a day and had a head over 4 miles wide with 125 mile perimeter

Thanks. I’m way north of the wildfires, but the smoke must have drifted that far. It’s literally blocking out the sun right now.
According to news reports, the prairie fire is in Woods County OK (Alva) and Comanche county, KS (Coldwater).
This is an area of rolling range country, with very little population. There are also few roads, creeks or other water sources and treelines. Which is to say, it's going to be a difficult fire to contain.
I don’t think so. Zoom in some and then the YUGE perimeter data show up.
Geomac has keyed on the wrong location. The big fire is on the Okla-Kansas border about 150 miles west of the fire shown.
It can take some fooling around to get the "app" to dance to your tune. It has tons of info and links to more in the wildfire universe. Zoom and pan, zoom and pan. Plus select the data to show from the legend.
Turn on the MODIS fire detection.
The area un having a blizzard. Doubt fires are a problem right now.
