New Coke was marketing genius. Coke increased sales by over 1.5%. This amounts to gazillions of dollars. Most people don’t know this.
You do know why they introduced “New Coke”.
They wanted to replace cane sugar with HFCS. But knew there would be an uproar, so they introduced “New Coke” instead, knowing people would beg to go back to something that tasted remotely like “Classic Coke.” Then, Voila! Classic Coke with HFCS, and everyone rejoiced!
