POS muslim is a criminal...always about him...we’ll see if who rents to criminal...in comparison to a person without a record they will always lose...it is like the ability to pay when making decisions on who to rent to!!

Landlords should obtain a Type 03 FFL (C&R) so they can say, “ Sorry, this building address is used as a firearm business. No felons within 500 ft. PROBLEM with. That HuD? Go talk to BATF.”

Landlords will get out the apt business then. And these folks can pound sand or live in a homeless shelter.

The government will buy those properties and become the landlord. You can thank the man from Canada after the Congress passes it, the President signss the bill, and the Supreme Court approves it 7-2.

Did you think that a landlord owns his property? Better get over that notion. Under the neocommunists you don’t really own your property. You just think you do. They control what you do on your property. They can come and take it any time. But of course you get to keep the tax payments, mortgage, insurance, liability, and lawnmowing.

“Obama Admin Tells Landlords They Can’t Refuse To House Criminals”

Tenants, criminals, same difference!

Well maybe that’s a little too vehement...but in my clan, landlords of residential tenants are considered in the same league as people who keep wild animals for house pets. One day that tiger will eat you alive.

Like the wag said about marriage, why bother? just find a woman you hate and buy her a house.

Best way to screen tenants? Bring them home to your house for a month. With no security and no security cameras.

Landlords compete with government housing, like they have in Russia.

That sounds like a good route to take around yet another intrusion into our private business.

We're being forced into noncompliance on so many levels these days it's hard to keep up.

Landlords who bow to this pressure and rent to criminals will be sued by their other tenants when the criminals prey on them; the landlords will lose because they didn’t do their due diligence in screening prospective tenants...

I believe there are already laws in some states, whereby a property can be seized by the government if a tenant is dealing (even using) illegal drugs.

In which case, rock, meet hard place.

Get a check from a friend and say "Sorry, it was just rented. You would have been a wonderful tenant." Show them the check. If someone else rents, and there is subsequent inquiry, "Oh that deal fell through, the check was no good. Sorry I didn’t keep a record of it." Not offering legal advice

Neither am I, but it'd be totally legal for the judge to decide you're full of it, and find for the plaintiff, and lay a few extra thumbscrews on you for good measure.
As my dad often says, "You even think about renting to anyone, I'll drag you over to landlord-tenant court and make you sit there all day." (And it has happened. I recommend it.)

Did the president of the United States just say that minorities commit most of the crime so it may be discriminatory to rent to them?

Damn minorities just cant catcha f-ing break from the white man.

I sure am glad Barack -”The Magic Negro” keeps us ahead of these kinds of shenanigans!

This is part of a wider problem where federal agencies just make up rules on their own which are then relentlessly enforced—IRS, BLM, HHS, etc. The Little Sisters of the Poor would not be facing crushing fines except for rules made up by Kathleen Sebelius, or if the courts still believed in the Eighth Amendment.

Criminal behavior is closely linked to being raised by a single mother.
Whites have about a 25% illegitimacy rate.
Blacks have about a 75% illegitimacy rate.
Three times as many kids raised outside stable married families, three times as many end up criminal.

That’s a culture issue, not racial one, though for blacks, it is THEIR majority culture.

However, there are people who make mistakes early on and manage to rebuild their lives. Under the current rules for many jobs and rental agencies, these people would forever be barred from gaining certain employment or finding a decent place to live for their families. I’m all for keeping felons out for the first five years after their incarceration. After that, however, people shouldn’t be penalized for the rest of their lives.

Convictions and penalties are as much about the money available for legal defense as they are about the crimes committed. How many Kennedy’s would have ended up as felons without the family piggybank? Jimmy Carter’s grandson went through a period of profound trouble, got out of it all, and ended up even having a private court session! (He died very recently, would probably have been better off serving time for a while.) George Bush the second was a well known cocaine user in his early years, and Obama freely admits using illegal drugs. When you consider how many of the felonies committed in this country are drug related, it’s easy to see that the judicial system isn’t just, whether you are black or white. It’s all about the money, like everything else.
