Sadly, there is no market for such shows. Reality is it now.
I think good entertainment is desired. Despite the insertion of PC references and bathroom humor, Disney animated features outdo most of the drek Hollywood now offers. A funny, innovative, uplifting, inspiring variety show I believe would be popular. One that operates on multiple levels and is suitable for the entire family (the occasional, nuanced double entendre OK).The main problem, as I understand, is the production costs of creating such a show on a weekly basis. “Reality” programming is a relatively cheap way to put “entertainment” on the air.
