Nice looking garden areas. I wish I could get my grand daughter interested in gardening. She is now 13 and has resisted all my best efforts for several years.

My oldest son doesn't want anything to do with the garden or the animals. Oldest daughter wants more animals. Middle daughter wants more flowers. The other four are hit and miss right now, still young. It really is a skill that is so important to at least try! I struggle with gardening but keep plugging away. It isn't easy. I see folks online that talk about a SHTF scenario and how they'll just grow food but have never actually tried to garden. Ugh! I only get anything done because my dad is a farmer at heart. He keeps nudging me along.

Now that I think about it, the oldest daughter has recently expressed an interest in gardening so she can grow plants she can use as natural dyes for the rabbit wool. I bought her a book so she can tell me what she wants to plant. Maybe your granddaughter just hasn't figured out her niche yet! Maybe start small with lemon balm or lavender and let her make lip balm or soap with it? Just a thought. :0)

Plant crops that she likes
I could never get my kids to help in the garden
until they discovered snow peas , and sugar snap peas
They would go up to the garden right after school for a garden snack, and then reluctantly help out.
They still rememeber it to this day, and learned about vegetables and garden work .
